Just back from Greece - athens, mykonos and santorini

Try to provide the latest information in case you are interested.

Overall enjorable trip ....

Date of trip : 24 May to 2 June 2006

Weather - very warm (more like in July weather)

Athens :

Join 3 days classical tour with key tour, tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. Lodging and meal were good.

Acropolis : 12 Euro entrance tickets cover Acropolis Museum.

Note : in All the museum, there are many eye watching, just in case you touch the exhibit or pose with the exhibits - they will give you starn warning.

Santorini:

Used Aegean Air to fly from Athens to Santorini (cost me 39 Euro excluding taxes) for 8:20 PM flight.

Very nice scenery and very relax atmosphere.

Went to Oia and wonder around Fira.

Stay at Hotel Antonio - very nice hotel which is close to fira central.

They provide Airport/port pick up for 35 Euro for double rooom.

Note : I bought the catamaran ticket from travel agent in Athens airport for superjet (only available for Friday - I was lucky). The catamran from Hellenic Seaway (Flying cat IV) was full - most people mentioned that you could buy the ticket when you reached the island may be in for a shock.

Mykonos :

Again very relax with nice sunset and scenery.

I had seen the most beautiful sunset in my life at Mykonos ...

Stay at Kymata Pension which is closed to the Windmills.

They provide one way pickup.

Visit Delos : Boat cost 10 Euro and start at 9 am. 3 return trips in the afternoon. Entrance to Delos cost 5 Euro and include the museum.

Ferry from Mykonos to Piraeus:

Again the 2:20 PM Blueferries was fully booked - another surprise (probably it was a Sunday), I had to book the 10:20 PM ferry from Hellenic Seaway which arrived at the port after 11PM.

Note : the night ferries depart from the New Port in Mykonos and it is did not provide any seat no and is free to all to grap any seats they want, a bit messy when so many people was rushing for seats.
