Does anyone used to go to Cape Sunion by Public...

Hi

I would like to know that apart from booking Cape Sunion tour for half day,Is it difficult to go there by means of public transportation from city center of Athens? And how? I will be in Athens alone.

Please give me some suggestion?

Thanks in advanced

Orange striped KTEL buses travel to Cape Sounion.

For a scenic trip take the 'paraliako'(coastal bus) from the Mavromateon 14 bus terminal at the junction of Alexandras & 28 Oktovriou-Pattission, 250m north of the National Archaeological Museum and next to Areos Park. It runs between 6.30am and 630pm and leaves hourly on the half hour. It takes 2 hrs and costs E4.10 one way.

There is also a bus which follows the less scenic inland route. It takes a bit over 2 hrs and runs every hour between 6am and 6pm. Cost E3.90

Get off the bus at the last stop and walk up to the right (facing the water), past the cafeteria to a ticket booth (Entry E4).

The last coastal route bus leaves Sounion at 9pm; the last inland at 9.30 pm.
