Athens Airport to Train Station

Does anyone know how to get from Athens Airport to nearest Train Station and where to find schedules. Trying to find schedules to Ancient Korinth, Greece etc...

Are there hotels within walking distance from airport if you couldn't take train sameday of arrival?

It's quite easy.

Nowadays, Corinth is served by suburban train which is also serving Athens airport.

Way to do it is:

You take Suburban train ( Proasitakos ) from Airport till Neratziotissa stop / hop off there.

Change there, same platform, to a train going to Korinthos, after a short waiting time.

Airport -> Neratziotissa ( 3 trains per hour ):

05:48, arriving at 06:08,

06:12, arriving at 06:32

06:26, arriving at 06:46

06:48, arriving at 07:08

. . .

22:12, arriving at 22:32

22:26, arriving at 22:46

22:48, arriving at 23:08

Neratziotissa-> Korinthos-> Kiato( 1 train per hour )

06:27, arriving at 07:30

07:27, arriving at 08:30

. . .

22:27 arriving at 23:30

23:27 arriving at 00:30.

----------------------------------------------------

In order to avoid long waiting time on change at Neratziotissa, take a :48 train from airport.

Overall trip time on a :48 departure, including change time, is 1 hr 42 mins, while ticket is just 8 euros per person.

Suburban schedules at:

To get schedules on an Excel table in English, click 1st and 3rd line: "Aerodromio / Neratziotissa" and "Piraias - Kiato".

Thank you so much...have no idea how big Athens airport is or what amenities onsite, wheither there is hotel within walking distance nor how far/hard to get to train station.

Did not know trains are right in airport. Worried arriving late evening and no way to continue journey. Didn't want to be stranded at airport.

:)

i think you will like it. It's a new, clean and efficient airport. It's quite easy to navigate. No terminals or something like this. Just one terminal under one same roof.

Upon clearing the airport procedures and exiting the terminal's doors, you just follow the "to trains" sign. Depending where exactly you arrive it's a 3 - 5 minutes walk.

So, you exit with your roller, follow the sign, pass at opposite pavement and take either elevator or escalator ( keep in mind they are auto, so they are still sometimes but they start rolling when you get near them ).

Take your ticket and leave. It's easy and quite welcoming to a beautiful country :)

Exactly on this walking path, Athens Airport Sofitel is located. It is not cheap but it is worth of every cent. Cheapr options are at a distance, either Holiday Inn on the middle of the highway going downtown, or downtown.

Check this site, which is the Athens Intl' airport site; you will find more info:

This page:

www.aia.gr/pages.asp?pageid=981&langid=2

has all info regarding public transportation and train you want.
