2 weeks to Greece with 2yo. Need help!

We are planning a vacation in early September to Greece with a toddler(2yo) from US. Not sure where to begin. Can you please share any itineraries for 2 weeks? Which places are kid friendly. We are vegetarians so would food be a problem?

What all we should take with us to make our trip easier.

Also, I did read few posts that suggested that Santorini is not good to travel with kids. thoughts on that?

Greece has more than 200 inhabited islands as well as hundreds of places on the mainland to meet your requirements. You must give us more information to be able to offer you any help. It is impossible to suggest an itinerary when no information is given about your personal preferences about accommodation, budget etc. What is important for YOU ? Greece is very child friendly, and you will not have problems finding vegetarian options.

Also - please note that contributors in these forums are all volunteers, and share information and offer advice based on their own personal experiences. They are not travel agents.

Santorini and Mykonos are the two most touristy, crowded and expensive islands in Greece. Santorini is mostly all about the scenery - here is to give you an idea:

It has got some beaches, but they are volcanic grit.

Thank you for your reply. As per our preference, our budget is moderate - not too low not too high. Being with a kid, we would prefer to not do lots of driving and stay somewhere(clean and safe place) close to main attractions(beaches, monuments etc) .

Would we need a rental car anywhere ? How is public transport?

Would love to spend time at some pristine blue water beaches.

is it worth taking ferries with a kiddo or we should opt for domestic flights?

A suggestion for you is Naxos (available both on ferry and domestic flight).

Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades islands. It has so much more options through diversity than any of the other Cyclades islands. You can look up more information about Naxos here (use the drop down menu):

http://www.naxos.gr/en/naxos/

It has some of the best beaches in Greece (some are also ranked among the best in the Mediterranean),

St. George beach is ideal for children:

You will find options for most activities - look up this link for hiking options:

You will find a mountainous and scenic interior, and some 30 authentic villages around.
