Jolly Harbour Villas Sunbeds on South Beach

We are returning to Jolly Harbour in March and wonder if the sunbeds on the South Beach are still free to residents of Jolly Harbour Villas. We stayed a few years ago and they were free but I have been told that you now have to pay to rent. Does anyone know if you do have to rent / costs etc? (There's 4 of us so this can be quite expensive!!) Many thanks for any replies.

Theoretically, there are still beds available for JH residents/guests. However, they are few (not been replaced or repaired for many years) and not always easy to find. They're usually stacked a little way along the beach (North of Castaways) and you can just use them. They're the white plastic variety.

There are beds and parasols to rent from the guys at Castaways, who will try hard to make you pay for anything, but will point you at the right beds if you're firm about it!

Just returned from a fabulous 2 week vacation in Antigua! If you rented your Villa through HBK Villas, there are loungers for you (the nice mesh ones') down towards the beautiful homes (way down on your right if you enter through Castaways). Check with your contact person if you're through HBK. We rented our Villa through Tropical Villas which do not have an arrangement with the vendors. Speak to Sandra (she has a booth with clothing, beer, water, food) just to the right of Castaways as you walk down the beach and she will hook you up. We wanted to rent 2 loungers and an umbrella (which you will definitely need) which would normally cost $20/day. We gave her $80US for 5 days of rentals. Let them know which days you will be heading to the beach, what approx. time and where you want to sit and they will have it all set up for you ahead of time. Enjoy your trip!

Also...don't forget to try Sandra's daily lunch that she prepares. It's enough for 2 people to share. ($10US) Very tasty!!!
