Family trip to Portugal

I am travelling to Portugal from March 12-21 with my family (husband and 3 kids, ages 12, 10,8).I have booked ourselves to stay in Cascais for 3 nights, Lagos for 4 nights and Lisbon for 2 nights. I thought we would take the kids to see Sintra and Estroil as well. My husband and I would also like to see if we can do a wine tour somewhere close by. Can someone recommend anything else I should be doing with my family? Does our itinerary sound reasonable? We are renting a car as well.

Close to Lisboa you have 2 areas that have wineries, Colares (near Sintra) and Palmela/Azeitão.

Going to Lisboa and visit "Oceanário"?

In Sintra, my girls (ages 9 & 12) liked the Pena Palace but they LOVED Quinta da Ragaleira. So much that my 12 year old wrote a paper about it in school. You can't go wrong with all the underground tunnels and mysteriousness of the place. If you go to Sintra and have to choose one castle to visit with kids, that would be the one, though you can probably squeeze both into one day. Enjoy! My girls also enjoyed Cascais. Don't miss the gelato at Santinis. Also, be sure to wander a bit from the main area where the train lets you off.

hi goodtimetravels,if your going to sintra from cascais there are 2 buses,417 is more direct and quicker than the 403 which takes you via cabo da roca (the most westerly part of main land europe).if your going to estoril from cascais there's a pleasant 40 minute coastal walk between two two places, enjoy.
