Train from Lisbon to Porto

Can someone help me? I want to travel from Lisbon to Porto by train on April 1st. What are my options? Is there a direct train? If so, how often does it leave Lisbon? Thank You!

Reservation is compulsory, which you can do on line and print your own ticket.

Does it matter from what station you leave Lisbon?

Oriente seems to be the only one listed.

Are mid-week trains, i.e. Tuesdays, also packed?

All the trains to Porto stop at Oriente. Some, who come from the Algarve, stop at Entrecampos and those who start at Lisboa, come from Santa Apolónia.

Oriente is the "new" district made for the expo. There is a big shoping mall, and a nice place to have a quiet walk!

Santa Apolonia is going to let you to the old charming city :)

Thanks! Got it figured out. We just need to get to Porto at a decent time. Some trains are even at a discounted price.

Oriente Station in Lisboa to Sao Bento in Porto (closer walk to residence ;-) )

The train from Lisboa to Porto stops at Porto-Campanhã, not S. Bento, but you can take another train there, to S. Bento.

I was thinking you just went to the stations like in Italy and got your tickets there! I am thinking more planning is needed for travelling in Portugal by train. Is driving difficult? Are the roads well marked?
