Povo/Cova da Moura

Hello - We will be visiting Lisbon soon. A couple of questions if someone could please help.

1) We have two children (9and 11) and would like to see some Fado but avoid the dinner/show places. Maybe just drinks and snacks for an hour or so. I came across a place called Povo in the Cais do Sodre area that would seem to fit this. Would this be appropriate for what we are looking for?

2) I have seen tours offered of the Cova da Moura area of Lisbon with Cape Verde restaurants to choose from at the conclusion. Anything worth seeing there?

Thanks.

Cova da Moura have nothing special to see and you can find there lots of people who work hard and at the same time you can find bad things there.

You can eat Cachupa and others Capeverdean food in Lisbon .You can eat Cape verdean food at cape verdean association (central Lisbon)

DON'T go to Cova da Moura.

If you want to take kids to Fado why not the Fado museum? Sometimes they have live performances http://www.museudofado.pt/

Cova da Moura is definitely a place to avoid... It is on the Lisbon suburbs and is a bad neighbourhood.
