best district to stay in Lisbon

I am planning to spend four days in Lisbon late October this year.

My main interests are culture, art, history, architecture etc.

I'm totally uninterested in bars, nightlife, etc

what would be the best district in which to stay given my likes and dislikes?

My friend and I are planning to rent an apartment, so lots of apartments is a plus, and we would like to be close to a supermarket too.

thank you all for your help

Avoid Bairro Alto.

Yes, AVOID Bairro Alto area because of the nightlife going there.

To be near culture, art, history and architecture you should check apartments on some historical part of town.

If you're interested in history, culture, art, architecture in my opinion the best districts are: Castelo and Alfama, you're really are in the heart of Lisbon.

In this area you'll find lots of restaurants, groceries, mini-markets. And you have the #28 tram nearby...you can't miss that.

It's also districts where you can find lot of apartments to rent.

Giving you're dislikes, forget Bairro Alto area.

Hope this can help you,
