Day Trips & Boat Trips?

Hi all,

Does anyone have any information about the above?

There does not seem to be much available without going to Lisbon.

We will be staying in Lisbon for 1 week and then a week in Estoril next June.

Thanks for any help and info.

Dear Peter and Jean

Thank you for your good wishes. We had a wonderful time in Estoril, Sintra, Cascais and Lisbon.

As promised this is what we found out about day trips and boat trips.

Day Trips: Organised sight seeing tours are run by Dianatours, (www.dianatours.pt)

local number 808234262

We got their brochure in our hotel. Examples of trips: Lisbon Monumental half day trip €32 entrance fees included plus €6 extra for pick up at Cascais/Estoril; Lisbon Monumental, Sintra, Cascais €74 full day entrance fees included (pick up Cascais Estoril €6)

Boat trips: Turiboat Tel 00 351 917822844 www.turiboat.com

or Tuttamania 00351 938769636 www.tuttamania.com

Also the Hop Off Hop On bus in Lisbon also includes a cruise if you pay the extra money. ( think around €30 -€35 for cruise and 3 bus routes)

We did not go on any of these organised trips. We stayed in Estoril and went by local bus to Sitra - which was a great trip. There are loads of palaces to see. We got off at the last stop and got a taxi up to the Pena Palace. It cost €6.50 plus tip and was well worth the money. We also went to see the Moors palace which is near the Pena Palace. We got the bus back and it cost roughly the same it left us near the palace with the big chimneys and spent a nice time there.

We went by train to Lisbon - bought the tickets in advance at the train station opposite the tourist office - which is near the casino. We actually got on the train at the Monte Estoril station - you need to validate the ticket at the machine - someone showed us how to do it. We had a lovely day in Lisbon - using the trams and a taxi and enjoyed the trip and saw a lot.

We met some women who went on an organised trip to Lisbon and said the leader spoke 4 languages and they felt rushed.

Hope you both have a wonderful trip.
