Whale Watching in Sao Miguel but pregnant...

Hi

Have a weeks booked in Sao Miguel. Have found all the information on here so helpful and informative. I have only one remaining question: I would love to go whale watching however am pregnant so cannot go on the fast rib boat they use.

I was wondering if all companies operating from Sao Miguel use the ribs boat or if anyone can suggest names of operators that use different, more sedate boats? Or perhaps someone can suggest where we could hire our own boat while on the island? Just seems like a massive shame if I don't get to at least try and see some of those majestic creatures!!!

All advice would be great!

I see there are no replies so I will add the limited information I have. I have not done the whale watching on my visits to the Azores, I was on walking trips, but from what I saw in the marinas, and its over 2 years since I was there, most boats were not high speed ribs. They looked more like fishing cruisers so I think you might be ok. Try a web search and see where it takes you, I found one at http://www.whalewatchazores.com/tours.htm that might suit.

I think that the company Futurismo has a new large boat, with two decks. Try to contact them.
