Azorean food is very special and in my opinion very good.

Pork meat, beef and fish are the most common.

Sweets are also very good, some of them original from Azores and other only from São Miguel.

So here is some that I think you should try.

Meats

Cozido das Furnas

Morcela com ananás

Bife regional

Fish

Cherne grilled

Chicharros

Boca Negra

Octopus

Tuna fish, steak

Deserts

Fofas da Povoaçao

Queijadas da Vila Franca

Pasteis de Nata

Queijadas de Feijão

Pudim de maracujá

Bolos lêvedos, type of sweet brad, very good with local cheese and butter.

Of course the Azores pineapple, one of the best in the world, for sure you have to have it more then ones.

I have tried to find info online abt. Azorean cuisine but there isn't a lot.

Ana Taveira has a nice site with info.

Hello.

Of course you have to try the famous "cracas", a shellfish that comes from deep waters, typical from the Azores and which, as far as I know, only exist there. There are people going to the Azores just to eat them...
