Portimao Algarve in November

We're considering the second week in November. We might stay at Torre Verde-Tres Castelos, any opinions?

We will be in Marbella for a week and then to Portugal for a week. Are there trains that go from Marbella to Portimao Algarve? Does anyone know how long the trip would be? We're having a struggle figuring out how the rail systems work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Linda

You cannot get direct from Marbella to Portugal.

Would have to get bus into Malaga city - good hours journey - then get train to Seville (another 2-2.5 hours).

From Seville there is an infrequent service into Portugal but service stops at Faro where you would have to change for another train to Portimao. Probably another 3 hours from Seville.

Would be a long and tiring journey - allowing for changes porbably 7 or 8 hours. We did a similar journey yesterday by car - Tavira in Portugal (an hour nearer the Spanish border than Portimao) to our home here east of Malaga;K stopped once for just 15 minutes and the trip took 5 hours.

Will be driving to Portimao in September and are going to break the journey overnight somewhere.
