Thank you for your reply. Planning on October 2024. I specifically want to stay in Lisbon 2 days and Porto 2 days and stop in Fatima. For Spain we’d like to stay in Madrid for 2 days, Barcelona 3 days and not sure where else. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You can easily arrange that kind of itinerary yourself without paying a tour company. Hotels in Lisbon and Porto are plentiful and of all shapes and sizes. , Fátima can be seen as a day trip by bus or car from Lisbon. Then fly from Lisbon to Madrid, from Madrid to Barcelona by one of the 200mph high speed trains.

You'll pay well over the odds for a tour company to undertake those arrangements for you. Both Portugal and Spain are easy European countries to manage on a DIY basis, hotels can be booked in advance by booking com for example, trains and internal flights booked in advance before you travel. You might consider 'doing' either Spain or Portugal rather than both in such a limited timeframe. There's lots to see and you'll waste time travelling between countries.

Did you have a tour guide with you or were you primarily travelling on your own? Did you speak Spanish or Portuguese? If not, did you have much issues? Do you have any other insight?

Hi - I'm looking at Tourandalucia for southern Spain. They have very small groups and you can stay in their villa each night. They also have an extension tour to Portugal. We've planned all our international trips in the past decades but now we're at the point to let someone else do it and have a stress free vacation - age certainly plays into this equation. It costs more for sure, but that's just the way it is.

Has anyone used Insight for group tours. Are there hotels centrally located. We have tried Globus and we were far from anything as well as Trafalgar. Whoever Perillo severe walking distance to all the wonderful sights. Any advise would be appreciated
