Will be in Bruges on Sat-Mon, help me plan my Sun & Mon :(

What can I do on Sunday and Monday? I'm thinking of 1/2 day at Damme and another day in Ghent, which is comparatively a better day to spend in Ghent? I'm thinking Sun since the train tickets will be cheaper.

Am I able to rent bicycles on a Sunday?

Where is a nice place that opens daily for lunch and dinner?

Is the town really dead on Sun & Mon? What else should I do on these 2 days?

"Is the town really dead on Sun & Mon?"

If you are talking about Brugge, no. Most normal shops are closed on Sundays, but those aimed at tourists are open, and most museums are closed on Mondays (excluding private ones like Choco Story, see http://www.choco-story.be/ENG/openinghours.htm) but the shops are open then. Canal boat trips operate on both days, the belfry is open every day, and everything that is essentially seen from the outside, such as the fish market and béguinage/begijnhof, is also available every day.

Of course you can rent bikes on Sundays, e.g. from: http://www.brugesbikerental.be/pagina70.html

Many restaurants in Brugge close on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday rather than Sunday or Monday, while others open every day e.g. the brasserie-taverne at De Halve Maan (http://www.halvemaan.be/index.php?id=26&L=2). So just choose what sort of restaurant you want, e.g. from tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g188671-Bruges_W… and then check closing days if necessary.

As for whether it would be better to be in Brugge or in Ghent on a Monday, State/municipal museums are closed in both cities, but in Ghent, the castle and the Mystic Lamb in St. Bavo's cathedral are both open and canal boat trips running as in Brugge - and shops are open in both cities. So it depends on what you want to do...
