Exactly when in March do the boat tours start running?

We are in Bruges 7th and 8th March. Will the boat tours be operating every day by then? And how much does it cost now. Looked at FAQ's but can't find this info, just says early March.

Thanks.

Ah, a bit more research and the answer is clear - 1st March, 7 euro, or free with the city card. Can you do the canal trip more than once with the city card though?

No. It says "free round TRIP (singular) on the canals" - http://www.bruggecitycard.be/index_en.html

Sorry to shatter any illusions you may have regarding the canal trips, but don't get too excited. You'll be herded (along with about thirty other people - and they won't go 'til it's full, believe me!) onto a cramped boat with no leg room and if you're taller than about 5'6", you'll spend the entire twenty minute trip in pain.

It was a real let down for us. 6 Euros each last March, by the way.

Thanks for feedback Qamineri and MMHolmes. Only have 2 days and one night in Bruges so probably won't bother with City card now or we'll just spend all our time inside attractions without "seeing" the city (and tasting the beer!)

When I asked my original question I envisaged using the boat trip as a hop on hop off facilty. Have now found out that, although there are several boat "stops", each stop has designated boats which don't stop again until back at the starting point.

To be honest, mate, you can walk from one side of the town to the other in about half an hour anyway, so you don't need public transport. If you like your food, make sure you check out Beer & Ribs. Excellent grub, top beer and reasonably priced. Just get there for when they open at about 6pm otherwise you might not get in. Enjoy.
