Hi All! Asking for your advice on parking on a Saturday (8th Dec) for the day. Want as central to the market as possible and obviously best price :) TIA 😊
As central to the market as possible and best price are mutually exclusive. You can park by the station quite cheaply and with a pleasant 15 minute walk, or you can use any of the central underground car parks which happen to have spaces (green light on direction sign) but pay quite a lot more.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. The train station option seems perfect and hopefully easy to locate. Many thanks! 😊
The parking 'Centrum-Station' next to the train station is by far the cheapest option, and on a Saturday also the place where you can be sure to find parking space. The rate is 0,70 euro per hour and 3,5 euro per 24 hours. From there you can either walk (15-20 min.) to the centre, but actually you are immediately in the centre because you either walk via the shopping street (part of the Xmas market is on the shopping street) or via for instance the Lake of Love and the beguinage. Another option on a Saturday is to take the free shuttle bus that leaves on the square in front of the station ( on the 10 min. parking area), which brings you to the main square. (it also stops in the Steenstraat: shopping street) and the Jan Van Eyck square). If you are too tired after you visit you can take the free shuttle bus back to the train station.
