Brussels Beer Tour

Hello, making a second day trip to Brussels to sample the wonderful selection of beers on offer. Went last June and our favourite places were Delirium, Poechenellekelder & Moeder Lambic Fontainas.

We wasted a lot of time faffing about trying to find different places to go so was wondering if anybody had some suggestions of other bars we should try to visit. I’ve done some research and Le Corbeau & A La Becasse seem good, any other suggestions would be welcome?

You might like this: http://www.brusselsbeertours.com/

You don't say where else you tried that you DIDN'T like, but the estaminet mentioned there is the tavern of the Toone puppet theatre in Petite rue des Bouchers.

You can also see what appeals from http://www.beeradvocate.com/place/city/24/

Btw, Le Corbeau is not known as a bar for beer connoisseurs, in my opinion. It sells itself as a brasserie but is better known for the late-night drunken antics of some of its customers. Rather like Celtica in Rue du Marché aux Poulets (although this places no emphasis on food).

Thanks Qaminari, the only place we didn't really like was A La Mort Subite, mainly because our waiter was not the most patient of people whilst my friend was selecting what beer to order and he basically told him to hurry up as he didn't have all day. Needless to say we only had one beer here.

We arrived at Brussels Midi at 10am and our return train to London at was at 8pm and in that time we only managed to visit about 5 bars as we wasted a lot of time faffing about. We hit Delirium first and in hindsight we should have got there later in the day.

I was thinking of hitting Le Corbeau for lunch, is the food any good? Hopefully will beat the McDonalds we settled for last time.

Have never set foot in Le Corbeau so can't help you there, sorry. You might like Le Paon (not a brewery, as it mistakenly says in English, but a brasserie), see http://www.lepaon.be/index.php?page=snacks-2 - although the beer list isn't extensive: http://www.lepaon.be/index.php?page=beverages
