From airport to Ibis Brussels Centre Ste Catherine

Could someone please help with a suggestion about the best way to get to Ibis Brussels Centre Ste Catherine from the airport. We will be arriving at the airport at 10pm and would like to know the most convenient ways of getting to the hotel.

Many thanks.

The most convenient way would of course be to take a taxi all the way from the airport but it would cost about €35. Otherwise, your hotel is between metro stations De Brouckère and Ste. Catherine, if you can make the last airport bus (no. 21, at 23.01) you can go to Schuman and change there for the metro to St. Catherine (total cost €3 if you buy ticket from machine, €4 from the driver, includes transfer to metro). Otherwise, you can take the airport train, and either get off at Gare du Nord (first stop) and take a taxi from there, which would cost less than €10 (or underground tram 2 stops to De Brouckère, the TRAM part of that station is close to your hotel: but you will need a good street map to find it), or get off at Gare centrale and change there to the metro - although you might not like the corridor that connects the railway and metro stations. Train costs €2.90 and you then have to pay separately for the metro (€1.70).

I've stayed at that hotel and found it to be quite nice. I had a great view of the square and restaurants near the Metro station.

If you decide to use the Metro, get out at the St. Catherine stop and after exiting walk toward the church. At the church you'll see the hotel off to the left.

Given that you are arriving so late at night, I'd take the train from the airport to the Central station and then a cab from there. It shouldn't cost too much and would be much easier than trying to make the necessary Metro or tram connections so late at night after a flight.

There are many seafood restaurants lining the street next to the St. Catherine Metro station and the whole neighborhood is fun just to wander around.
