delta works?

We will be in Holland from Tuesday for two weeks. I would very much like to view the delta works - but what I read about Neeltje Jans is a turn off...

What is the best way to experience the architecture and science of the project without the waterpark or seal shows? I see options at Haringvliet dam and at Maeslant storm surge barrier - which of these is "better"? are there other options?

Thanks, Shlomi

Hi Shlomi,

Renting a car for a day is best, as many of these are hard to reach by publuic transport. Maeslant is nice to see closeby for a brief time but lacks a visitor centre etc. So I would at least visit also Haringvliet dam and maybe also Oosterscheldedam (without the Neeltje Jans commercialised stuff). Entry for Haringvliet Expo is 5 euro, more reasonable than NJ. See

(Dutch only though the expo itself should have English texts too).

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]
