Fyra train from Amsterdam to Rotterdam

I will be arriving at the Amsterdam Schiphol airport in late May, and catching a train to Rotterdam, then returning a week later. It looks like the Fyra is a good option and that i can purchase tickets online for it.

Im confused, though, about the tickets. The Rotterdam Visitors guide says you need an NS ticket and the Fyra supplement - a paper ticket. Can anyone help me understand if i do actually need to purchase 2 tickets, and if i do, can i get both online?

There are so many direct (yes, direct) InterCity trains between Amsterdam Schipol Airport and Rotterdam, you don't need to book in advance. Just buy a ticket at the airport.

If you buy from NShispeed the suppliment is included but you also have to pay 2,5 euros for using a credit card.

The normal price for Schiphol to Rotterdam is € 11,20 and NS price is € 13,50. As Wirewiper said just buy your ticket at the station unless you want to get it organised before hand.

NS hispeed is the better option and only takes 1 hr ,if you use a ticket machine it will give you the two tickets ,one regular and one suppliment .I cant say about the ticket office at the airport , it may only be one ticket inclusive , I'm not sure

No also at office it's basic ticket + supplement. However I presume they consider both as one for the surcharge, only 0.50 euro surcharge for buying at office instead of the stupid machines ;-)

All the best,

It might be an idea to buy your return ticket from Rotterdam at the same time in Schipel, there is often a long queue at the ticket desk at Rotterdam Central, travelers buying international tickets etc.
