Leiden- neat dutch city

this college town is much more of what many seasoens travellers seek: an authentic 'real' city with few tourists

wonderful outdoor cafes, very walkable / bikeable city

you can rent a bike at the train station and get around the nearby countryside easily

an easy stop enroute to Den Hag (also neat) or Rotterdam (cold and less interesting)

very few hotels however

My wife and I have visited Leiden a number of times now and think it's one of the best places we have been too. I normally have trouble walking, but not in Leiden. You have plenty of cafe's to stop at when ever you need a rest. Food wise you can eat any national dishes from all over the world, and they are very good.

If you need any guidance while your there just ask the first person you see as they are very helpful people.

In short it's a most interesting place and worth a visit.
