We are a family of 7 (5 adults & 2 children - 7&13 years old) and will be travelling from UK by car to Holland (3 days) from 7-10 May & followed by France ( 3 days Paris & Reims). We plan to briefly halt in Brugges & Ghent on our way to Montfoort.
In Holland, we will be staying in Montfoort (located between Utrecht and Leiden). Please can you suggest an itinerary for 2.5 days to cover historic, countryside and scenic locations - would prefer to explore the rural landscape as we do have the convenience of our own vehicle.
I came across some places mentioned in the travel forum and need to understand which of these can be realistically covered in 2.5 days and in which order based on their geographical distances. Please can you advise what we can see in these places, so that we can make the most of our stay. We love photography - so any other recommendations are welcome!
Pls can you also suggest parking locations if applicable - as we have a 7 seater!
1.Zaanse Schans (Is the Zaanse Schans Card worth it or should one just pay for the windmill?)
2. Marken & Volendam
3. Amesfoort & Utrecht
5. The Hague
8.Leiden /Keukenhoff (I think we may be too late for the tulip bloom, but can we see tulip fields in the countryside?)
Thank you in advance for your help and look forward to hearing from you.
