Cheap Eating in Amsterdam

Would ask, especially to local experts, where to eat without spending so much because I'm in a very low budget for this trip.

Chinese, afrikan and other ethnic foods are ok, don't need a special or particular place, just would to save money and put something good in the belly.

In the Jordaan quarter would be good but it's ok any place.

Thanks so much!

There are various all you can eat Chinese dotted around the city . There range from around Euro 8 to 18... The best being Treasure, see dining scene on INSIDE , this site,

In Wing Kee a combi meal of Pork or Chicken or Duck , on Greens with Rice works out around Euro 9. Portions are large and quality good.

Plenty of Italian with pasta or Pizza meals for around 10 euro.

Browes www.amsterdam-eating.com or www.iens.nl for ideas by types of restaurants and also areas situated. geoff.

please come back if you need any more specific info.

Now it's no Culinary masterpiece but It fills You up. Also you can find many english style breakfasts at good prices throughout the city.

Like has been mentioned here, Holland is full of snackbars where you can get fatty stuff for 1, 2 or 3 Euro, the most popular being "patat friet" (French fries. but thicker like Belgian papat). Lots of Italian fast food with pizza slices too and cheap Chinese take-aways. McDonald's and Burger King have some of there fast food for 1 or 2 Euro.

Some supermarkets have micro waves where you can heat up a ready meal you can buy there (between 3 and 6 Euro) so you could look out for that too.
