What to see and do in Amsterdam

I have been to Amsterdam 3 times before and I'm going again in September for a few days. Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions about what there is to see and do there? What have you done & seen when you've been there? I don't want to repeat what I've already done before and fancy seeing new things. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there.

As you have been 3 times already, you might well have the best knowledge of what is possible and what not.

Regrettably, you do not indicate your likings and dislikings, therefore it makes it somewhat difficult to advise.

What I can advise, and what you certainly have not seen before (premiere today.... ;-) is the Rembrandt Musical, which will be performed in the Royal Dutch Theatre Carre, which is a fabulous worldfamous theatre, performance in dutch but simultaneously translated at the same time, as a premiere in Europe.

Let's wait and see the reviews in the paper next week....

Info and tickets here:

Furthermore, there is of course the Rembrandt 400 years anniversary year this year. Lots of info about events and special exhibitons here: http://www.holland.com/rembrandt400/

1-3 september 7 bridges Jazz festival, http://www.sevenbridges.nl/

In this URL below you can find all kinds of exhibitions and events going on in Amsterdam.

What about going out of town? Any interests that we should know to be able to advise more specifially?

Feel free to revert back for specifics.
