Fly or train?

I'm trying to decide whether I should fly from Amsterdam or Geneva or if I should take the train.

(1) The train ride takes some 8-9 hours

(2) The train ticket costs about 167 euro

(3) My hotel in Geneva is near Gare Cornavin

My questions are:-

(1) How far is Schipol from Amsterdam?

(2) How much $$ to get from Amsterdam to Schipol?

(3) I use SNCF to check train prices. What would be a good website to use to check air ticket prices?

Schipol to Amsterdam Centraal Staion by train takes 15 to 20 minutes. A single ticket is around Euro 3.60. check the trains on www.ns.nl , click on the English version.

Sorry cant help with the flight info.

For flights, try www.wegolo.com.

Easyjet should have reasonable prices on this route...

<Erik> & [Sandya],

thanks for your website! it seems much much cheaper to fly than to take the train from amsterdam to geneva!

Hi oregonsixteen

Just to add a little precision to geoffboxer's post: it is extremely easy to go from the airport to downtown, since the train station is in the basement of the airport.
