Family accommodation on a budget

We would like to visit in late May after 4 nights in Centre Parcs - we like to have a little education along with the fun stuff!

We are ideally looking for some accommodation for 2 nights that will seep 2 adults and 3 children (under 9).

The youngest is 4 and will not walk for miles so we'd like something central or very close to transport links.

We are driving so could consider something on the outskirts near a mainline train route.

Would really appreciate any suggestions?

I would suggest to park your car at a P+R and travel to the centre on public transport.

Amsterdam is indeed not a very carfriendly city.

See top question at your right

"Parking a car. What are the options? P+R?"

For your accommodation we need a budget.

Hotel Hestia has a quad room and their site says a 5th bed can be added on request.

It is a short walk from Leidseplein and Vondelpark. We've stayed there since 2004.

The Owl Hotel is next door - they also have a quad and a 'baby cot' can be added; haven't stayed there...
