Claiming UK VAT while leaving via Eurostar Train

I've got a bit of a complicated one...

Wife and I are traveling from Dubai to UK for a week, then taking Eurostar line over to Paris and flying back to Dubai from France.

Since we are entering UK on an Airplane and leaving on a train and never to return, how do we claim our VAT for items purchased in UK?

Thanks

You claim when you leave the EU, in your case when you fly out of CDG, you would do the same even if you flew out of the UK.

We did it last week, we made purchases in the UK, then travelled by Eurostar/Thalys to Amsterdam, where we made more purchases, and finally on to Paris where my wife purchased a handbag.

The customs at CDG stamped all the receipts from the UK, The Netherlands and France, didn't want to look at the goods, and we deposited them all at CDG, which is where we finally left the EU.

What does this have to do with Amsterdam?

Nothing really to do with Amsterdam, but as the question was asked on the Amsterdam forum it was easy to answer it there.
