Coffeeshops on the " to be closed list"?

All the yacking seems to be about us tourists and whether we could still go to shops or not. We can.

But I remember a discussion about shops to be closed because of being to near schools.

A friend of mine recently showed me a list of shops to be closed.

It was a shock to see so many all time great shops on the list. And a lot of them.

I am just not sure that list is still an issue. Or accurate.

Does anyone have any update on this?

Yep its happening at the end of this year. Some of the shops are being allowed to move into former coffeeshops.

Yeah, de Kuil is on that list, isn't it? Maybe we'll be back drinking beer there soon.

Any chance the Rokerijs will be re-opening during this time?

The Rockerij as you knew it will never be again. But there a couple of shops moving into the old Rockerij's outside of the 1012 postcode. Dirty Boy is what Chuck said.

Also, I believe, many of the Coffeeshops in the Red Light District and surrounding area are being forced to close as part of the clean-up of that area. Some as far west as Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.

In anticipation of that, I've read that Hill Street Blues on Warmoesstraat will close as a coffeeshop next month, then reopen as a bar. Far from my favourite coffeeshop but i've always quite liked it's punky grimeyness.

Yes DeKuill was on the list I saw.

Will they be able to get their liquor license back? If so I would assume it would be me a smoke friendly pub.

Betty Boop was another.

But it was a very long list.
