Hotel recommendations for the Jordaan District

My wife and i are planning a trip to Amsterdam in early September this year and are interested in staying in the Jordaan district.

Does anyone have any recommendations on clean, safe and relatively inexpensive hotels in the Jordaan district?

The Jordaan is a mainly residential area and not really prolific with hotels.

Try The Toren or the Canal House nearby.

Technically not in Jordaan but close to it and budget friendly if you do not mind stairs tripadvisor.ca/…REVIEWS

If these do not fall into your "relatively inexpensive" category, then tell us more about it.

i stayed on Westerdok last month, about 10 minutes on foot from the Jordaan. We stayed on a houseboat B&B (Ms Luctor) which was the cheapest place we stayed on our Munich/Paris/Amsterdam trip, biggest square footage, and included a ridiculously large breakfast. And the most unique. My wife and I have different tastes, but on this we agreed.

If staying for 3 nights or more, a boat rental or Boat B&B is definitely worth consideration. Given the canals that separate/insulate the Jordaan from the city center, there might be several closer options.

Also must say I love that neighborhood. Cheaper beer in a "chill" neighborhood devoid of the rampant stoned yobs shoving each other in front of cyclists in downtown.

Did most of our eating and drinking there. Happily.

What Ron said: there aren't many hotels in the Jordaan itself (good thing too IMO, cos at this time of year it already feels like you're living in a sort of open-air museum around here!).

You might have a look at Hotel van Onna though: http://goo.gl/Tqc1c

The 2 hotels I suggested fit in your budget. Could also consider Hotel Sebastian's, not in but very near Jordaan
