You can take fruit/food from one EU country to another.
You can't take fruit to the Netherlands from Singapore, as for food, it would depend on what it is. Contact your airline.
Amsterdam; everyone speaks English.
Brussels has some English speakers but is mostly French speaking
Paris, good luck!
You'll be fine, all are used to tourists and the cities are well mapped.
You should get by just fine in Paris. I speak a few phrases of French that I learned for the trip (using Pimsleur, which I highly recommend) and had no problems using the Metro, ordering food, etc. My traveling companion speaks only English and got along just fine.
