Floriade, 2012

What is the best way to get to the Floriade in Venlo.? We are seniors, will not have a car. Does anyone know a tour company that will take us from Amsterdam or Antwerp to the Floriade?

Thanks.

Hi there,

It's early days...

Most likely tour companies like Keytours and Lindbergh will offer day tours from Amsterdam. Public transport means train (1 transfer) plus a bus, altogether about 2.5-3 hours one way, although I expect special shuttle buses coming from Venlo station.

All the best,

We'll see spring next year. I am expecting a frequent shuttle bus from station directly to Floriade, but it's too early to tell. Agree that there are many trains; from Amsterdam either a transfer in Eindhoven or in Nijmegen.

All the best,

This is what is presently posted on the Floriade website.

"Venlo is surrounded by the international airports of Düsseldorf, Maastricht, Eindhoven and Weeze. Visitors coming by train will alight at Venlo station and take a shuttle bus to the Floriade grounds."

Here's the link for the website. They will probably post further details as they become available.

It might be worthwhile staying in Venlo for a night,I went to the last Floriade and it was a huge site to walk around. To see it all and travel both ways might be a bit much.

No direct bus, train is your best option. Take about two hours with a change in Eindhoven. See the following website for fare and schedule information http://www.ns.nl/en

OK Thanks again

I see our river cruise is now offering a day trip there ...not ideal to see everything but may be worth the trip with them
