Two hours is easily enough to explore Breda's historical centre. It's about 10 minutes walk from the train station to the historical centre.
The train station in Breda is currently under renovation. Most of it is finished now, but the layout is a bit complicated. Just follow the signs direction centre ('centrum'). Unless things have changed again, it involves leaving the station at the wrong site, and then backtracking by crossing the rails again via a tall pedestrian bridge.
Once you exit the station, continue straight, cross the Singel canal, and walk through the Valkenberg park. Then you're in the historical centre with a large church, market square, begijnhof (beguinage), etc.Edited: 2:16 pm, March 17, 2015
Thank you both for your answers. With your helpful suggestions we should be able to figure out which direction to head. I looked at a map and see the area you described.
