Train at the airport

Hi guys, I'm looking for a bit of info regarding the train station in Zurich.

We arrive at Zurich airport 11.30am on a Saturday in January.

We are booking the swiss transfer ticket as we intend to travel to murren.

Will we have to leave the airport to catch the train? Are there any supermarkets in the station?

Will the trains be double deckers as they are from Geneva?

Many thanks

Hi suzysue13. You do not need to leave the airport to catch the train - the ZRH train station is in the bottom level of the airside building which you can reach by covered walkway from the terminal.

There is a large Migros supermarket 2 floors above the train platforms. There are also many other shops in this area including bakery, vegies/health food, food court, and all the other normal shops.

To go to Murren you will take the train from Zurich to either Bern or Speiz, transfer to Interlaken, and then again transfer to Murren (or via Luzern - but that is longer). There is a good chance that the train to Bern will be a 2level, but after that you are most likely to have single level trains.

Hope this helps.
