    Montreux <-> Chamby... easy or difficult at night?

    Montreux <-> Chamby... easy or difficult at night?

    Hi everyone,

    A group of us are visiting Montreux for two days and by accident, booked an apartment in Chamby. I know that the local trains take 15 minutes to reach Chamby... however:

    1.) Are the local trains efficient and costly?

    2.) Do they run late at night?

    3.) How much does it cost for a TAXI from Montreux to Chamby (better to pre-book?)?

    4.) Or... Is it worth renting a car for two days just to travel between Montreux and Chamby (we are 5 people total)?

    1) A two zone day ticket cost CHF 8.80 this is a day pass for trains and buses within the local transport network.

    2) The last train to Montreux to Chamby is at 23,45 www.sbb.ch

    3) Taxis are expensive in Switzerland but 5 people will reduce the cost.

    4) Probably not but it depends on how far you apartment is from the railway station, some of these mountain communities can stretch a long way up hill!
