Lugano day trip - Morcote Gandria Bellagio

Hi,

We are travelling to Lugano in early Sep. We have one & a half day to explore. We are staying two nights, but first night will arrive late. Question: Will we be able to do lake Como & Bellagio on the second day & Gandria & Morcote the following day (we leave Lugano about 3-4 pm). All advice is much appreciated as this will be first real trip to Switzerland. (PS: How many hours daylight can we expect at this time of year)?)

Thank you.

You can plan your visit to Gandria and Morcote using this boat timetable.

Thank u for your reply. How long should we allocate for each place?

Is it easy to explore the towns on foot?

Thank u.

Neither are towns. Both are easy to explore on foot.

Gandria is a small village clinging to the hillside overhanging the lake.

Morcote is right on the lake with Vico Morcote up on the hillside behind.

Thank u. Looks like two hours in each place would be quite sufficient?

One last question - would u recommend the post bus to get to morcote or to take the boat?

Hi, we are very happy to see you soon in Lugano.

Yes to visit Gandira and Morcote tow hours for each place is enough.

We inform you that if you take the boat in the morning at 9.25 to Gandria (you arrive in Gandria at 9.53) and then you come back by boat at 11.15 and get off in Paradiso (at 11.55), you can take the boat at 11.58 from Paradiso to Morcote (you are in Morcote at 12.40) then to come back you can take the post bus (that is faster and cheaper then the boat) at 14.05 (you arrive in Lugano at 14.39) or at 15.35 (you arrive in Luagano at 16.09). This timetable of the post bus is valid from Monday to Friday.

Otherwise, when you come back from Gandira you can take (in front of the ferry boat staion Lugano Centrale, in Piazza Rezzonico) the post bus to Morcote at 12.30 (you are in Morcote at 12.57).

For any further information you may require we are always at your complete disposal.

Best regards
