Mountain train rides

Are there mountain trains in Arosa? My kids dont want to go skiing but really enhoyed the cable cars and mountain trains in Grindlewald last year. We want to find a different resort with lots of scenic rides. Is Arosa the right place? Thanks

The train ride to Arosa is very scenic and quite dramatic, in the summer time open carriages are added to the trains.

The highlight of the trip is the run through the streets of Chur and the Langwies Viaduct the tallest on the Rhaetian railways network.

At Arosa you can hire a trottine(scooter) and ride back to a lower station.

Arosa is probably best for just a day excursion taking into account the points you raised on a previous posting.

The whole area of Graubunden has great train rides my favourite place in the region is Bergun on the Chur to St Moritz line.

Between Bergun and Preda the railway loops and spirals to gain hight, in winter the road is closed and turned into a tobogan run, in summer you can hire a cycle or trottinet.

There are many places to stay in Bergun and in the previous village of Filisur where the Grischuna Hotel by the railway station is a favourite amongst railway enthusiast.
