cars in interlaken area???

I am planning on driving around Switzerland in the summer of 07. How safe is it to park your car and then go into the "car free" towns of the interlaken area. Are the parking areas safe enough to leave an expensive car or do you know if there have been problems with theft etc???

hi there*

absolutely no problem to park even 'expensive' cars. IF U FIND A PARKSPACE. most underground parking lots in the bigger cities are quite expensive and to drive around a city u dont really know and find a parking space...... could maybe be a bit stressful sometimes....

but safe, yes, idefinitely it is.

For the car free villages of Wengen and Murren you can park your car in the multi level building at the Lauterbrunnen train station. As mentioned above there can be a shortage at times but they are in the process of enlarging the facility so by next summer the situation may be better. For Murren you can also park in the large outdoor lot at the Stechelberg lift station. I have been traveling to the valley for over 20 yrs and have heard of no security problems.
