Mt. Pilates vs. Mt. Titlis vs. Jungfraujoch

We have 2 days from Zermatt and Zurich to visit 2 of the alps mountains. Cannot seem to decide whether to visit Mt. Pilates or Mt. Titlis or Jungfraujoch. We can do any 2 of the three alps. We will be with our 9 year old daughter and traveling in August 2011. We live in sunny California and have seen snow before. We will most likely be taking escorted tours to these mountains.

Give all 3 a miss and instead opt for the Stanserhorn, located above Stans which is mid-way between Lucerne and Engelberg. This is an easy trip you can do on your own (like the others as well) train from Lucerne to Stans 20 minutes and then walk 100 meters to the funicular station and up you go. Your kid will love this short retro cabletrain ride to the intermediate station.

This topic is already discussed many times before. Refer link below:

There is no need to look for any escorted tour to visit these mountains and these can be easily visited on your own.

Thank you so much for the link. Read through other reviews and found it to be very useful. For now, have decided to visit Pilatus and Jungfraujoch but things can change as trip is not due till August.

Will definitely consider Stanserhorn which I wasn't familiar with earlier. Thanks for the suggestion.

You seem to be afraid of going on your own and want to stay within crowds. In which case why not take one trip like this so you can feel safe, then the next day try something on your own, somewhere less crowded where you have time to stop, look at the mountains and relax.

Jungfraujoch is a very, very long and tiring day from Interlaken, from Zurich or Zermatt it will be hell. When we did Pilatus it was just one long queue all day, queuing to get up, queueing for the toboggan, queue for drinks, no time for a meal, then queue 2 hours to get down in time to catch the train back.
