Galcier express

The glacier express runs between Zermat and St Moritz, which takes approx 7 hrs...am I right? If I stay overnight at Lucern and want to take the galcier express ride... can this be done as a day trip? ie take the glacier express in the morning and return to Lucern for overnight stay?

Hi there,

Don't try. Lucerne to Moritz is about 2 hours and to Zermatt 3-4 hours, so you would almost travel between 6 AM and midnight ;-) You could to the Chur-Andermatt part of the GE as a feasible day trip from Lucerne, then you see e.g. the Rhine gorge.

All the best,

Hi 1203jojo

I agree fully with Eric. Why do you not make excurions in the Lucerne area which has so much to offer? Look at the Top Questions about Lucerne (upper right side of your actual screen) for more great excursions.
