With only four days I would choose one base only. Lucerne would be great (especialy in April) as there are so many excursions you can do from here - see www.luzern.com and Top Questions about Lucerne (right side of your actual screen). There is even a lot to do if the weather would not be as perfect as we all hope for you.
For all public transport timetables, fares and other information look at www.sbb.ch/en
You will need to do the maths and it depends where you would like to visit if a Swiss Saver Pass would be helpfull or if point to point tickets will be more economical. You can find the fares at the SBB website and the railpass information on www.swisstravelsystem.ch
For your way to Paris, the Swiss Pass would cover until Basel. From Basel to Paris you can look at www.tgv-europe.ch/en/… (it would be the train coming from Zurich you would take). There are really cheap offers which get published three months prior departure and which selll out fast.
Thank you so much Pore :):)
