train from zurich to luzern

finally made a decision to go to luzern Hotel "Des Alpes" and need suggestions how to get to Luzern from Zurich airport. any info will be appreciated. Should I purchase the rail pass online, or is it economical to purchase at Zur Airport? Can you tell me the cost for a family of 4? Also I am looking at the schedule of the train.

Hi, if your only train travel is between Zurich and Luzern, you don't need a rail pass. You can simply purchase the tickets at the Zurich airport station. For train schedules use the Swiss Rail website - sbb.ch/en for the English page. Put in Zurich Airport as your departure station. You can then look at fares as well by going to a particular departure and clicking on the fares button on the lower right corner.

Hope this helps - have a great trip.

Hi Elizabeth

There is a direct train every hour from Zurich airport to Lucerne. Departure time at about XX.45! Duration: 1h

Price/person/one way: about 40 Swiss franks
