Mt. Titlis

Is it feasible to visit Mt. Titlis from Lauterbrunnen or Zurich. We are looking for an apt. in Lauterbrunnen for 5 nights (any recommendations), so as not to change too many hotels.

Thanks

Well it is but quite a long journey. See www.sbb.ch and then distance and time to Engelberg, generally 2-3 hours extra (times 2) compared to just doing it from Lucerne...

All the best,

Hi sunrise s

Lauterbrunnen and the Jungfrau area - www.myjungfrau.ch - have so much to offer that I can not recommend to loose your time with a Mt. Titlis excursion from there.

Yes it is faisible from Zurich.

What I would recommend is to visit Mt. Tiltlis on your way from Zurich to Lauterbrunnen or vice versa. You would take the train to Engelberg, leave your luggage in a locker there and go up to Mt. Titlis - www.titlis.ch -. On the way back you collect your bags and continue to your destination.

Have a great trip

Thanks everyone. Which one should we choose - Schilthorn or Titlis? We are also planning Jungfrau, Trummelbach falls, boating on Lake Thun / Brienz (again, which one should we choose), and a day for easy sightseeing. We dont want to cram our days or have an overdose of peaks.

Could you also recommend apartments in Lauterbrunnen. My fave - the Oberland is available only for 3 days.

Hi sunrise s

As you will be at Lauterbrunnen, I would definitively choose Schilthorn. Boating on the lakes I find lake Brienz more dramatic. You could for example boat to Brienz, take the bus to the Ballenberg open air museum and visit this great museum - see www.ballenberg.ch -.

You can find all kind of accommodation on www.myjungfrau.ch

I am getting 5 days at Alpenrose, Wengen whereas only 3 at Lauterbrunnen.. Should I split the stay between the two. We will only have 2 rolling suitcases & a backpack, shifting wont be a big hassle. We really want to stay at Lauterbrunnen, so I was hoping we could use the 3 days there to visit Interlaken, Murren etc & then shift to Wengen.

Is the apt. easy to navigate from the station - eg. slope, distance etc.
