Wedding in Perugia

We are looking at wedding venues in Umbria/Tuscany at the moment and came across Villa San Crispolto near Perugia. It looks gorgeous but we don't know anything about Perugia- If anyone has been to the Villa or Perugia and could give us some advice about the area we'd really appreciate it

Thanks a million

The Anglican-Franciscan priest who resides in Assisi - Padre Thomas De Hoop - has officiated at many weddings there. He says it is beautiful - both the place and the minister (smile).

His email address is: tomdehoop@yahoo.co.uk

Padre Tom can certainly give you the details of the place - and how to go about doing a service in Italy.

Congratulations!

If you wish to be married in a church here, nothing more spectacular than the Basilica di San Francesco in Assisi.

Sounds, though, as if you wish to be married in a villa......?

Depending on number of people coming to the wedding, you may wish to have a more "intimate" wedding in a country settings - near Assisi - look for website of Villamena outside of Assisi.

I helped an Irish woman organize her wedding and all the group stayed there (she did get married in the SF Basilica) - they were thrilled.

After wedding, an Umbrian country lunch cooked for all the guests by Raffaella (owner of Villamena).

....or you may wish to get in touch with Mario at Todi Castle......

Hi,

I am also looking at this place for a wedding venue. It looks fantastic and by reading the reviews it sounds unreal. However you would have to fly to Rome and then make your way down the two and a half hour journey as the flights going into the nearest airport only go from Stansted. It would probably be allot to put on your guests. Either way the traveling to get there would be expensive. The average flight from Stansted is about €140 and you have to fly to there also and get a taxi from the airport to the resort. It will only sleep 17 people but they do offer some great deals on villas nearby. The best of luck with your search

There are buses from the Rome airport to Perugia - and you could arrange for a small bus to take guests to the location once they get to Perugia.

The train from the Rome airport is quite easy too....you take the train right from the airport for a 30 minute ride to Roma Termini where you take the next train to Assisi or Perugia -the price 10 Euro-

Oh....RyanAir has had flights from Stansted to Perugia airport (which is only 6 km. from Assisi)....for free!!! Lately, there have been prices on some days for less than 10 Euro including taxes and airport fees.

Hi,

A few more things I have found out that may be of interest. You have to provide your own drink. They will provide someone to serve it to your guests. Marco has advised me that beer is about €0.50 per bottle over there. You can fly direct from Dublin into Pisa airport which is about one hour from the resort but the flights aren't as frequent as Rome. They are however cheaper at the moment. There is a possiblity to sleep an extra 4-6 people at the villa at a cost of €450 per room for 2-3 people. The wedding suite is €200 per night €500 for 3 nights and €900 for the week. This is located on the first floor of the church that has been renovated.

My wedding in Perugia was done at Convento Monteripido.

It was a real fantastic day.

It is an ancient monastery still managed by nice friars.

I don't know an exact address to ask about but it's possible to look for some more informations here:
