Sangallo or Brufani Palace?

Do you know which out of these 2 hotels would be more suitable for a family with young children? We have booked at Brufani Palace for June but the Sangallo Palace hotel also looks nice? Any other recommendations for Perugia accommodation would be appreciated (we will have a car).

Thanks

Have stayed at the Brufani several times but not in recent years and never with small children. Always had a v enjoyable stay and personally like the rather old fashioned, slightly formal air. Rooms were spacious, nicely furnished, rather sumptious bathrooms. On another practical note hotel has a garage, which is immensely useful! I remember finding our way in even on the second and third visit was bit of a nightmare; ask for good, clear directions. Perugia itself once you're in the old town (suburbs are horrible) is very interesting. The town's main art gallery especially is a treasure trove and quieter than its equivalents in Tuscany. Remember one of the curators giving us a guided tour on a snowy December saturday, it was absolutely fascinating being shown around by someone so knowledgeable.

The hotels you mention are like chalk and cheese. The Brufani Palace is top of the range in every way whereas the Sangallo is clean and basic. It really depends on what you are after. Our favourite is La Rosetta a few metres down the Corso from the Brufani. Old Fashioned family run hotel. Kind caring staff. www.perugiaonline.com/larosetta
