Stop in Pisa

We will be travelling by train from Rome to CT in July, would it be feasible to make a stop in Pisa?We don't have extra days to stay there but it just seems like a must do to see the leaning tower, or am I totally unrealistic? Thanks!

Edit just saw the topic from a few days ago, so it looks like we can stop in Pisa on our way to CT and leave our bags at the station? Will they hold larger suitcases there or is more for backpacks etc...

1. Re: Stop in Pisa

You would have to detour to visit Pisa, as it is not on the line along the west coast between Rome and the Cinque Terre. You would need to buy a ticket for Rome-Pisa and separate ticket from Pisa to the CT village that is your destination.

There is luggage storage at Pisa Centrale station that will take bags of any reasonable size, and the station is about 1 km from Campo dei Miracoli.
