What is the weather like in October?....have found cheap flights...weather on google for October says 70f and 8 hours sun...was thinking 1 night Pisa and 6 in Forence, using it as a base for travelling around Tuscany....fancied this trip in June but it was too hot for me...all advice appreciated.

You can do pisa as a short day trip from Florence.

It's impossible to predict. Last year October was glorious with very little rain and temperatures in the low to mid 20s all month. Other years, especially from the middle of the month onwards, it's been either quite cold or even cold and wet. I'd say come earlier in the month rather than later but even then, nothing's guaranteed.

Odds of some sort of perception at some point during the day = 37%

Was there Oct 20-23, '11. Bright sunny days were cool. Advice I heeded was to dress in layers and to take a light jacket suitable to withstand showers. Ran into a few of those prior to Florence and was glad for a jacket, scarf and umbrella.
