We are staying i Florence some days and want to visit Lucca one day. Train or bus?
It does not matter much. They leave from the same place in Florence and arrive not far apart in Lucca. The train will not be delayed by traffic.
If you arrive in Lucca by train the station is just outside the walls, cross the ring road and enter the city through the Porta San Pietro entrance. The bus station is just within the walls on Piazzale G Verdi.
Both are good...i think bus is easier.
The bus stop (for the Lucca bus) in Florence is not right at the train station but a block away. It's on Via Fiume near the corner of Via Nazionale. The bus line is Vai.
