Uffizi tickets

I gather it's best to buy tickets in advance, but do you have to queue for a lengthy period to buy advance tickets actually at the museum itself?

thanks, we're going on Tuesday 10th for a few days, so hopefully we will be ok to get some. Wasn't sure if it gets fully booked or anything.

You do best to phone in advance to make the bookings. There are more availabilities by phone than online, and you do not have to pay when you make the booking. The number is 00 39 05 529 4883

There is a booking fee of €4 per ticket for all advance bookings, whether by phone or over the web site.

On reading this back, I think I misunderstood the question. I thought the OP was asking if the queue to pick up tickets bought in advance was long, but re-reading it, they were asking if they can buy advance tickets while in Florence. Just to be clear anyone wanting to visit the Uffizi or Accademia should book tickets in advance by phone before they travel to Florence.

And as I understand it, by "booking" tickets you mean reserving them, not actually purchasing them in advance. tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187893-c145508/Tusca…
