Hi. We travel a great deal and know these places well. I think you did good especially because you are flying.

You might consider dropping Rome one day and adding the extra day to Florence/Tuscany so do you be sure to do a hilltown like Siena (#1) and San Gimignano (everyone seem to like this) to do justice to Tuscany. Adding this will make a great visit to this region. Florence has a lot to offer so you have to allocate enough time to enjoy it.

Have fun on your trip.

You are crowding a lot into a short time. Florence is a world class city for art and architecture - the home of the Rennaisance and deserves a good deal more than a paltry day and a half.

I would be tempted either to do Rome/Paris or Rome/Florence and perhaps if it is a first time trip for you then Rome/paris and reserve the northern Italian cities for a further trip. There is such a lot to see in these treasure houses - pick from any, or all, of Umbrian towns (Assisi, Spoleto, Perugia etc.) Tuscan Towns ( Siena, Volterra, Arezzo, San Gimignano etc.), Florence, Bologna, Milan (very frequently under-rated), Bergamo, Verona, Vicenza, Mantua, Padua and finally Venice. There is a lot to see so plan for several visits and see Florence and Venice before you die!

I second ningbond's motion. It's a shame to come from far away and miss any of the three. And I would add one more day to Florence. One and a half day is a bit skimpy.

Have a great journey!
